The Big Funk Company’s intent is to bring American theater to France and to present multilingual productions (theater and film) to the French- and English-speaking communities working with writers from all over the world. The BFC presents plays in English and French while working with actors from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
In June 2014, The Big Funk Company partnered up with New York’s Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Youngblood playwrights program for a great Parisian adventure:
AMERICAN SUNDAYS - Theater and Brunch.
Since then the BFC has developed this event in Paris working with writers from all over the globe, including writers from the BFC team. The BFC is proud to reinvent this original project that the EST started nearly 20 years ago in New York here in Paris calling it AMERICAN SUNDAYS. An afternoon of theater and brunch, where you’ll find four one-act plays, performed under a new theme at each performance, and followed by a delicious American brunch. The plays are performed in English and subtitled in French. The Big Funk Company created their first American Sundays in June 2014 at La Nouvelle Seine. In 2015, they moved to the Peniche Adelaïde. In 2016 they had a successful season at Le Theatre du Lucernaire and with an ever growing audience. Seeking a larger venue, the BFC moved to the Théâtre du Gymnase for the 2016/2017 season. After a successful run, American Sundays is now held at the Theatre du Lucernaire.
Our tickets are for the performance only with brunch tickets available on the day of the performance for 10 euros. Reservations for the brunch may be made by email at bigfunkboxoffice@gmail
